Lump over my sternum.
I have degeneration of the sternum/collar bone and am awaiting to see my surgical doctor.
I hvae had this lump for quite a long while, every time it hurt a bit I always had some exclamation for it, exercise! lifting ect.
I went to see my doctor as it was painful for longer than normal and sleeping was difficult, he referered me to a surgical doctor and he thought it was degeneration and sent me for an x ray. The man that did the x ray said the same, but of course, the x rays are to be sent on to the surgical doctor whom I will then have to see, hopefully in the next week.
I have been reading this board and can relate to alot of it.
I have this lump over my sternum, as said, and the pain spreads all over the chest area at its worse!
Nighttimes in bed are difficult as I now have to lay on my back, propped a bit, and any movement is painful!
Now, I know I am to see the doctor and will be able to get more info about this complaint, but its nice to hear it from people that have it!
Am I to be in pain and on painkillers for the rest of my life? I have arthritis in my fingers and ankle, which I cope with! The fingers are never much of a problem, and the ankle is only if I do alot of walking ( which I tend not to now).
Look forward to hearing from anyone that can help .
