What has helped you the most?

What one method has given you the most relief from costochondritis? When I have a flare-up, it lasts for weeks during which I can do very little and have to fight off panic attacks. Typing on a computer is the hardest thing for me. I'm on short-term disability from my administrative assistant job right now because I can only type about 30 minutes before the pulling, burning, swelling, panic attacks, and intense pain start. I would like to be able to do my job.

Re: What has helped you the most?

Honestly, the only thing that ever actually helped me was taking Aleve. :/

When I feel it starting, I just pop two of them and within a short amount of time, I'm fine again.

Re: What has helped you the most?

Sometimes I wear a snug sports bra to bed and even to work to lessen the movement of my chest. It seems to help from the pulling on my chest wall sometimes or I feel it does.
Aspirin and heating pad is all I do.

Re: What has helped you the most?

hi im 14 and im in the same situations sometimes, except i have to take off school. i like to wrap myself in a heating pad take aleve every chance i can and just try to sleep.

i know the pain, but to me the attacks are the worst. i seem to get them in school a lot and just cant seem to control them and none of my teachers ever know what to do but stare ... i wish you luck with your pain and hope i helped in some way.
