update on costo flare up

Hello Everyone
Well thought I would check in ...seems Costo is just loving me lol ..since last time it has flared up again and again ...I can handle the tenderness what I cannot handle is the sharp pains that come before that ....brutal ...I also hate taking advil or anything but if the pain gets bad enough I will take it .

I also suffer from panic and anxiety which doesn't help the situation and am some what of a hypochondriac ...so there you have it . I am starting a ciro and message therapy and hope this helps ...I am increasing my low impact cardio to 30 min 4x a week this week (hopefully I can do it) and I was told to start walking with 1 pd weights ..that should be fun considering with my costo I just turn or reach the wrong way and I get a flare up .

Just curious and would love to hear from other ppl what they use or do to relieve the pain and aches ....other than hot or cold comprass advil or aleve anything natural ...has anyone tried any peppermint oil or voltarin or anything you can rub into the chest ...I am alittle afraid to do that thinking it might be bad ..

anyone ....suggestions I need all the help I can get ...

Re: update on costo flare up

Hi there! Who told you to increase your cardio/walking? Is it a recommendation from a PT? Does it help relieve pain for you or just a way of keeping active? I haven't found much in the way of pain relief. I just recently started doing some light stretching which I do feel helps. Like you I try my best to avoid taking advil or anything of the sort. I haven't tried any types of rubs/creams. I also totally empathize on having anxiety/panic tendencies. It makes this so much worse! Hope to hear back from you. Take care.

Re: update on costo flare up

Hi There
I was told to increase my walking from my GP ...She thinks it will help so I try although the weather has not been great here and I don't like to walk in the humidity ...
apparently it is for both to keep active and to help with the pain ...since I cannot do any running or jogging or any of that stuff and the one pd weights are to start toning my arms but also rebuild my chest muscles so I wont get so many flare ups...also gentle stretches ...all easier said than done ...but I try .

Hope your well and let me know how your doing.
