I would pose another theory-that you could possibly have some underlying connective tissue disorder causing the costo to persist for so long and causing the deterioration in your discs. I would ask Dr for a sed rate, CRP, and connective tissue disorder work-up, which consists of some nspecific blood tests. Any other symptoms or signs of inflammation like undue fatigue, joint pain, muscle aching, fever, rashes, pleurisy, hair loss, etc. should be discussed as well.
