| Question: Pregnancy and Ulcerative Colitis
I am trying to get some "non-doctor" insite on pregnancy and having ulcerative colitis. This would be my 2nd pregnancy, but the first since I was diagnosed with UC (I had UC symptoms with my first pregnancy, but didn't know what it was). My GI docs tell me that I need to be in remission at least 3 months before I should conceive, but the way my disease is, that could take years. I've read different websites and everyone gives a different perspective. Some say it doesn't matter if your in remission or not, others say it is best to be in remission. If anyone has gone through a pregnancy or knows someone that has while dealing with UC, I'd like to know how you delt with it and if you were in remission when you conceived. Any info would be GREATLY appreciated!!
