I am a 29 year old female and I am having a colonoscopy and endoscopy done on Thursday to find out where my stomach troubles are coming from.
I was doing a little reading about both procedures and came across possible complications. my dr also told me about these, but I decided to look further into it.
I heard that the lining of the colon can be torn during the colonoscopy and requires immediate surgery. And there can be breathing and blood pressure issues with the sedative that is given before the procedure. I am a smoker and wonder how it would affect me. There were some other complications that can occur bit these 2 seemed the most serious.
What I was wonder was if any poster has had a colonoscopy or endoscopy and had a serious complication?
I am a bit nervous, so just need some words of encouragement. I know that they are both tests that could possibly get to the root of a lot of my issues.
But I am still a little afraid
