UC and one year later

Hi there,

I was diagnosed with UC a year ago. My symptoms went on for months. It took several more months after I had seen my GP to get a referal to a specialist and then a colonoscopy. At that point my whole colon was inflamed and I needed a blood tranfusion and several weeks in the hospital. Medication included prednisone for 6 months. That was aweful!!! Fast forward to one year later, I am still taking Imuran. Colitis is in remission but I am very sensitive to alot of foods. My question is about being on Imuran for so long and side effects. Does anyone experience anything while taking this medication?
Thank you
