I recently read that Crohn's is An autoimmune disease is where the immune system attacks its own tissues resulting in some form of inflammation. Itís virtually accepted that Crohnís is an autoimmune disease caused by an overly aggressive immune response.

it is an autoimmune disease. Most treatments today revolve around this. Immunosuppressants (immuran, Methotrexate, 6Mp) all lower the immune system and Biologics (remicade, humira and tsarbi) lower your TNF factor of the immune system in order to lower the immune response attacking your intestines.
