Joint pain, swelling, and arthritic symptoms with Crohn's

My wife is 31 years old and has a moderate case of Crohn's. She was diagnosed in her early teens and has had a couple resections and emergency surgery for a perforated bowel. It's been probably 10 years since her last surgery and with the exception of the occasional flare, she's been fairly healthy in that period. She is currently taking Humira injections every other week. Over the past year or so she has developed arthritic symptoms including pain and swelling in her joints and extremeties, mainly arms and hands. It is completely intermittent, but can be very painful and debilitating. She has seen a rheumatologist with no real diagnosis or results. Her GI did try taking her off Humira for a short time, and to me it seemed to help alleviate the symptoms, but her Crohn's symptoms started to resurface so she went back on it.

Does anyone know if this is common with Humira? Has anyone else had a similar experience with these symptoms, with or without Humira? If so, were you able to find any relief? Has anyone noticed any improvement with the SCD diet, gluten-free diet, Paleo diet, or avoidance of grains/refined carbs?

Thanks for any help!
