What are your Symptoms?

I am having trouble getting a doctor to find out what is wrong with me. My husband and I have a feeling it may be Crohn's. Well I was wondering if you could tell me your symptoms when it first started and how it is now? I am now thinking that it may be something I have had longer than I thought. I did have to go to doc about 3-4yrs ago for stomach pain and they gave me prilosec for 2 weeks which cured it. Then a couple years ago i was having severe stomach and digestive problems which I noticed to be related to milk. I then stopped consumming it and felt so much better. Been dairy free since then with the occasional bite. a 1 and a half yrs ago I had to be on doxycycline for a year for a chronic infection. Well 8 months into the medicine I noticed some more stomach and digestive problems. Now everything is all messed up. I know antibiotics can mess you up. I do know there is a report on doxy causing crohns. Which my gi doc kinda ignored. He said I should be better if I would stop the doxy so I did and 6 months later I am still no better. Anyways I was wondering if I could have had crohns or some other autoimmune disease all this time and the symptoms were flaring up but the prilosec and the dairy free diet suppressed the symptoms. Then the doxy made it become active again. Could that be possible?

Well, the first symptom for me was bloody stools. The second I saw blood in my stools was the second my brother took me to the doctor and that's when I found a GI doctor. You should find someone who would do a colonoscopy of your stomach and see what is wrong. It's how the doctors figured out I had Colitis and how my brother had Crohn's. Crohn's is inflammation in your small intestine, and Colitis is in your large intestine. Either way, this is not something you should wait on.

Keep me update please. :]. Best of luck.

I went to the doc yesterday and she thinks it is a food allergy or intolerance. Also she said my stomach may not be digesting my food properly so she ordered a urinalysis which came back fine a food allergy blood test waiting results and a gastris emptying scan for next week. I have been having some right side and right back pain. Feels like buring or dull and achy. I am thinking about asking her tomorrow if she could read my file and see if I possibly could have gastroduodenal crohn's. I do have some of the symptoms and I have mild inflammation in my stomach and duodenum. I am desperate to find out whhat is wrong.

Re: What are your Symptoms?

As I said, ask them to do a colonoscopy. This is when they put you to sleep and stick a little tube attached with a camera down your throat. They'd figure out if you do have Crohn's or colitis. Right side pain, as well as your back, same symptoms I have everyday. You might have colitis.
