Look into the kind of interactions some of these specialists have with CF patients -- talk about why GI specialists are important, what exactly it is respiratory therapists do (things like chest physical therapy, ("the thumps") percussion, vibration, and postural drainage are quite interesting, to me at least.)
Doctors aren't the ones who deal with these patients on a regular basis -- they are done with for consults and things like that, but by far specialized care practitioners like nutritionists and RTs see the kids on a much more regular basis.
Look into sweat tests, as well as the discovery of the precise gene that causes CF. There's a blood test for this gene that is now definitive; makes it so there's less guesswork involved in the diagnosis, and also a step towards a cure.
