As more mutations are identified -- currently there are over 1500 -- more and more people are being diagnosed at a later age. It's probably important now that you DO know that you are seen by an accreddited CF clinic to insure that you continue to lead a long and hopefully symptom free life.
As for your unborn child... Has your partner been tested in terms of being a carrier? DS was diagnosed because he was born with a bowel obstruction caused by his CF mutation double delta f508.
