Re: newbie

Hi,
I have asked the same question of healthcare provider because my husband offered his lung if I were to need a lung transplant. What they have told me was they dont usually do only ONe lung if they were to do a lung transplant on a CF person. Because both lungs are affected, they usually decide the best option is to replace both. I think it also depends whether the CF person is affected by the main bacteria that most Cf people carry which is pneudomonus(not really sure how to spell it 100%). Really though, it makes more sense to replace both because both are clogged with nasty mucus, so to replace one and have one good and one bad, doesnt really sound like a good deal to me
