My mom passed away 5 years ago on April 11th and my dad passed away 3 weeks ago on April 23rd. They were both very young. My mom was 57 and my dad was 61. Their deaths were very different. My mom had fibromyagia and suffered with intense pain for 2 years. She could not sit, stand, walk, or bathe without severe pain. To touch her was very painful. She took her life. I totally understood why she did it. My brother found her. This was so hard on him but she came back to him and explained why she did it. She left me a letter telling me she would always watch over me and I really believe she is......
My dad passed away 3 weeks ago on April 23rd. He had cancer. He was diagnosed in November. He lived 5 months. My father had such a postive attitude and was determined to beat it. The cancer started in his lungs went to the hip, pelvic area, spine, brain and liver. He was fighting but the cancer fought harder. He was so postive and so humerous even though he was in intense pain. I know he was doing this to make it easier for my brother and I. My brother and I took care of him for 5 months as we promised him we would not put him in the hospital. We watched him die. What he went through and what we witnessed I would not wish on my worst enemy but I would do it again.
I miss my mom and dad so much but knowing they are now together once again helps makes thing easier. It does really hurt knowing I no longer have parents but I do believe they are now angels taking care of my brother and I.
