Lung cancer metastisized to the brain

Will is cause the patient to seem clear headed at some times and hallucinating that at others?

My mom ended up w/ mets to the brain....and before we knew for sure...noticed sporadic episodes....but it should be checked as there are so many other things that can cause issues...like dehydration...electrolytes off...etc...we saw that as well...so worth telling the doctor what you are observing and ask him about the mets...they can probably run some preliminary blood work to check the levels...and then even an MRI....CT did not pick up on my Mom's as the MRI did...good luck...good thoughts...please keep in touch...C

Hi.
It depends...but I noticed my Dad was more irritable and forgetful. Sometimes it can be the meds the patient is on to help contribute to these side effects.
Hope this helps.

It could be brain mets or actually it could be the medications the person is on.
At one point in time, I thought my mother's brain mets were out of control, when in reality....it was her medications that were making her "out of it".

Re: Lung cancer metastisized to the brain

My Mom's mets to the brain didn't cause too many problems for her. It was this time when she started to lose her hearing though. As her mets got bigger and started to burst it caused her to have "mini" strokes. She'd be incoherent for approximately 30 minutes, then she'd be back to normal and couldn't figure out why she was in the hospital again or even how she got there (by ambulance).
