What to expect?

I have to go and see my mum tomorrow in the chapel of rest, never having to do this before how do I cope!?
I was there when she died but dont know if I can cope with saying goodbye forever.

Re: What to expect?

It is hard to say goodbye. I know I had to experience it very young as I lost a sister in childhood and it never gets any easier. I do feel comforted by the fact that you can see a person is at peace. I know that even though my husband insisted on a closed casket, I was able to view him as I wanted to see that he was dressed to my satisfaction and to place a momento with him. I was eased by seeing his face without pain and it looked as if he was sleeping peacefully. I am glad my last memory was a comforting one and not one of his prior struggle. I hope you find comfort as well.
