What do you do to help your husband if his very close uncle died and he has shown absolutely no emotion at all.........at the hospital when he died, at home or at the funeral or afterward --- and you are sure it is eating him alive inside.

Thanks for any help.....are there any words besides "Are you OK"? I feel helpless and I don't dare bring up the word counseling.

Men tend to bottle up their feelings. I think they feel weak to others to show that vulnerable side. Maybe just a gentle reminder of how you know he is missed would be comforting. Maybe with time, he can set aside the strongman act and actually voice his feelings. I know it has to be hard to not be able to talk about his loss freely.
