Blood loss and time to die

Okay, so I know I'm probably just panicking posting it here but I didn't know where else....

I have a really good friend who tried to kill herself yesterday. She was found unconscious from blood loss. It's now been over 24 hours and she hasn't regained consciousness, in spite of transfusions. We're all getting very, very anxious. But at what point should we...you know...get *really* anxious?

Thanks to anyone who knows.

Einna

Re: Blood loss and time to die

I had something similar happen to me apart from the self harm. It took me 72hrs before i became conscious. But it does depend on the person and how much blood they lost, how long where they with low blood levels. Give her time.

Hope she recovers quickly.

p.s. Dont force her to tell you why when/if she come round because that will make her feel worse.

Re: Blood loss and time to die

I already know why...she was kind enough to leave me a suicide note :-(

She was found maybe 15-30 minutes after she cut herself. She passed out waiting for the ambulence, and she's been unconscious ever since.
