My cancer is progressing very quickly, I am still under going chemo treatments and treatments to help my bones but all I can think about is dying. It's become a non stop problem, so sure it's going to not only be a awful experience but that I am just going to be in some black void. I really could use some ideas on how to change my mind on this whole process but have no clue where to begin.

Dear Frances... I would love to see you discuss this with your oncologist and ask for some counseling help. There are marvelous people out there who can help you process your thoughts. I am not talking religion unless that is your belief. None of us get out of this life alive, we all face the same end. You need to find peace, comfort, and reassurance. I think the first place to ask for this service is through your oncologist. Do not let anyone pressure you into believing in a certain way just because it is there belief system. UNLESS..... it brings you peace and reassurance. You don't need that kind of guilt and pain dumped on you. I have absolutely loving empathy for you, even though I don't know you. I truly hope you find the assistance you need. It IS out there but sometimes you just have to search for it. Take care, Sharon
Dear Frances, I could not say it any better than Sharon. Wish we could be with you, feel with you, listen to you and hold your hand.
When you say in some black void, do you mean while you are here or afterwards? I have no religious belief but feel part of nature here and perhaps one unifying soul elsewhere. Just sharing thoughts. With universal love....tina
For me personally, this has worked wonders when I am in a dark place. I suffered anxiety months ago (where all I could think about was death too) and this really helped to pull me out of it.
If you can, try to spend time with the ones you love. Simple things like physical touch can be very reassuring, even an innocent head-tickle or massage can be so therapeutic to just forget about things for a while.
If nobody is willing to do this for you, perhaps go to a massage parlor. Maybe chatting to someone there whilst they give you a massage will help.
Try to avoid "unreal" distractions like TV, the internet, and games if possible, as these often only serve to remind us of the negative things, with so much violence and death on TV. If that is in your life replace it with love and reassurance wherever possible, it can make a huge difference psychologically.
Don't be afraid to spoil yourself, you deserve it.
