OK everyone, I need your advice. I went to the dentist on Monday for a very bad toothache. He took an x-ray and I have an abscess starting. He put me on amoxicillian. 2 tsp 3 times a day for 7 days. I'm supposed to get my tooth pulled on Tuesday. 2 nights ago, the pain was unbearable. Last night, my cheek became swollen. I called my dentist at home and he told me to take 4 advils every 8 hours for the pain. He's going to call me today to see if it's still swollen (which it is) and he will put me on a stronger medicine. I've been putting cold compresses on my cheek but the swollen isn't going down. Before I went to him, my sinuses were acting up and my throat was sore and my ear would hurt now and then from my tooth. So I think the Amoxicillian was trying to fight everything including my tooth. He said he can still pull the tooth on tuesday because I still have the medicine in me but I was told that if they pull the tooth if it's still infected, the infection can spread to the other teeth. I can't eat anything except for soup for 7 days which is a good thing because I will probably lose some weight. LOL Does anyone know about this? Can he still pull the tooth if it's still infected? Any suggestions?
