Hi, on Tuesday I had a back molar pulled. The tooth was also abcsessed. I think they called it the 4-7 if that means anything. Anyways yesterday I had a high fever and chills. I left school and came home, today I feel much better, but am afraid that it is infected. What should I do?

I’ve never heard of a dentist pulling an abscessed tooth before. They usually give you antibiotics to clear up the infection before they extract your tooth. But if you’re having fever associated with the extraction you need to let the dentist know.

I just had two wisdom teeth out. My doctor told me I might have a low grade fever. You probably should be on antibiotics. I would suggest calling your dentist. I have been in contact with my oral surgeon while healing and it's helped a lot. One of the things he kept asking was if I had a fever. It must be pretty important then! Hope everything goes well!
