I know from reading posts on this board that many of you have full or partial dentures. I think being a newbie denture wearer that many of you can relate to the emotional and physical fustrations. So, I thought, how about trying to look on the bright side like never again having to hear those dreaded words " You need a root canal."
I challenge all denture wearers (and those who just wish they had dentures) to post a "bright side" to wearing these "bricks"
Yes, there is a positive side to dentures. They replace something that has gone bad. For a non- denture wearer to judge someone who must wear dentures is unfair yet it goes on everyday- society has criminalized those of us who for what ever reason have lost our natural teeth. Scarifices have to be made and wearing dentures can be a very good thing for many of us- it sure beats no teeth at all.
On the plus side- yes, no more root canals, no more fillings, possibly never a painful dental check up ever again. We can have our teeth look however we want them to- as long as our wallet can support that. They are a cheap way to entertain the kids! There are many positive things that you will discover as time goes on- they may be different for each wearer. Just the fact that you took this step to improve yourself is a great one. There is no shame in wearing dentures unless you give in to it. I had great support from my family and friends because I chose to be open about what I was going through. My husband and I found ways to make this a good thing for US! Hang in there.

Sandybeech or anyone with dentures,
Would you please read my post "What now?" and let me know exactly where you began and which specialist does what? Your input will be greatly appreciated!
My dentures were made by my regular dentist. I chose him based on information I got from local dental labs that i contacted asking for referrals for dentists they felt did a good job with dentures. I opted for immediate dentures instead of waiting until everything healed and getting my pemanent ones. An oral surgeon did the extractions. Hope this info helps.
Mystic, as you know i am really new to this , BUT I am looking forward to what you say , LOL , Hope you are haveing a great day!!!!! take care, Byeeeeeee.
