nausea with novocaine?

I had some crown prep work and bridge work done last week and needed about 7 shots of novocaine due to my sensitive teeth/pain.

While in the dentist's chair (about 4 hours!), I experienced a headache, nausea and felt like I was out of it for the most part....I could see everything happening, but felt like I could care less if they chopped my head off....scary experience.

Is this a normal reaction?

Re: nausea with novocaine?

Hiya,

I didn't have novocaine, but another type of numbing agent .. and got really sick to my stomach and hyper ... for about 1/2 hour ... then it went away.

After extraction ... got that way again for 15 minutes .. then was ok.
