Hi All. A Couple Of Questions...
For those who have have/had gum problems, have you ever had the calculus just under the gums that was a dark color? If so, when you brushed, and your gums started to heal exposing the calculus, was your tooth/gums tender until it was scraped off?
In other words....I had this problem on one of my k-9 teeth. It didn't hurt until the gums started to heal and shrink back to normal. When the gums came in contact with (or were at the same level as) calculus, the gum above that tooth bled for a couple of days (when brushing only and stopped shortly after rinsing with Listerine) and once the gum line was above the calculus, it stopped and I was able to scrape it off.
I have another tooth that has started to bleed when brushing (didn't before) and I can see the dark line just under the gum line. It's a little tender to brush, but not to touch or anything like that.
I have to continue on like this for a little bit, ( removing what I can myself) as I am getting together the money to have a full-on sonic cleaning.
Also, how many here have had vague pain in what seems to be their jaw, but not the teeth? I have a pain that seems like its the jaw joint itself. The teeth on that side feel normal. Should I be prepared to talk about TMJ with my dentist?
