It's hard to say if it's normal or a scam.
I have a tendency to believe people are honest, and ask lots of questions. I'm also suspect that some people will selfishly look out for themselves first...we all know that's unfortunately normal in our society.
If it were me, and I just felt they weren't being fair or considerate to my concerns, then I wouldn't hesistate to find someone else. When I was younger, I'd stick it out some. But later in life, I found that in my gut if I felt that the situation was not right, then I'd change in a minute.
