About two weeks ago, I noticed that there was some white nastiness on my left tonsil. The tonsil seemed sort of swollen. Every so often, these gross pieces of whitish/yellowish stuff will come out of it. I suppose its an infection, but can your tonsil get infected like that? I've never heard of such a thing before. What causes this kind of stuff? Do I need to go see a doctor about it, or will it just go away on its own?
I agree with Halo31, that it could just be something stuck in the pockets. I have had something similiar happen, and what it was for me, was a piece of popcorn husk got caught in it.
As tricky as they are to start off with (popcorn husks).. I think I had to resort to using a bright light, a mirror, and my finger to get it out.. kinda gross, I know.. but it worked..
If you can't get it to come out (whatever it is) or develop a fever, then I would go see the doc..
Also, try gargling with salt water..
