Exclamation I have a lump on the roof of my mouth!

once or twice a year i get a lump on the roof of my mouth, right behind my two front teeth. I can feel it with my tongue and I am in a lot of pain. I have one now, and this one hurts all the way from behind my front teeth, through to the gumline directly above my front teeth and i can't chew food. I have never been to a dentist for this, but i think this time i might. Before i do, does anyone know what this might be or what could be causing it?

Dear nikki, I am not a dentist and I encourage you to see one. But you should see one asap because it could be a.an abscess, b.an extra tooth or teeth trying to push through. It sounds infected since it hurts, and the doc/dentist would at the very least prescribe antibiotics to fight the infection. You should not hesitate to see the dentist. Remember, before they do anything to you, you may always ask for laughing gas. Whether that be a needle probing around the infected area, or even before they put an i.v. in you. Let them know how you feel, and they can't proceed on you without your nod. Good luck, let us know what becomes of it.

Re: I have a lump on the roof of my mouth!

Hi,

I don't know if you have what I had...but I first started with those symptoms in my teens and early twenties. I had this lump on my roof that could quickly spread to all my gums, a few times a year. Over the years, I developed fibromyalgia symptoms that progressively got worse in addition to these teeth, mouth and gum problems.

When I linked all these health problems to my mercury-silver dental amalgams, I had them replaced with less toxic white fillings about ten years ago. I slowly have gotten better...now I can run nearly 20 miles a week...after being told in 1978 to not run more than a hundred yards by a doctor.

I still am experimenting...with cilantro and herbs to naturally chelate the mercury out of my body. Some people state that once the mercury is locked in the tissues, that it stays there forever without some mechanism to chelate it out. So that's the reason for my experimentation, even after ten years. I have a lot more interesting stories to tell about it...if anyone is interested.

I don't know if you have any mercury-silver dental amalgams (called "silver" fillings by a lot of dentists), but I thought I would let you know. You are the first person that has described one of my early symptoms. I know how it feels. It can be extremely painful.

For me, what I did with this condition before I linked it to my dental amalgams, was rinse my mouth out with a salt water solution. I would mix baking soda and table salt into warm water...and do it repeatedly. That greatly helped.
