I have an old root canal that has been bothering me lately, but I have not been able to get in to a dentist to deal with it (the last one i saw did not want to fix it or pull it, wanted me to have some outrageous amount of surgery that my insurance would not cover, and i just didnt like the dentist, was kind of creepy) anywho...now my tongue is swollen, has blisters (pretty big, kind of oblong shaped) and something that almost looks like a pimple on my tongue! It hurts and is really bugging me...my throat is getting kind of sore and I would swear my tooth is draining into my throat at night...

question is...can a dental problem cause my tongue to swell? someone told me it is the abcess trying to find a way out of my body and that it could even go into my brain or blood and kill me...

any truth to any of that?
