Sore Gums..lead to other things? - Dental Health Message Board

Hi,

I have a small area on my gum on the upper teeth where the gum has receded and is sensitive and bleeds a bit, just above that is a small white sore that has been there a few days. The sore itself doesn't really hurt.

I've been persistently dizzy for about a month and have headaches, earache and some pains and twitching in my hands and feet. I have no idea if all of these symptoms are related. I have a dentist appointment tomorrow and have been seeing my PCP for the other things (allergies, anxiety etc).

Wondering if anyone else has had such a complexity of symptoms and wether the teeth may be the root cause? It is hard to tell with so many things going on which caused what or what may or may not be related.

If your only problem is that the gums have receded a little bit but other than that your teeth are seemingly healthy I can not imagine the symptoms you described are related to your gums or this "white sore" (which you should show your dentist). Your symptoms remind me a disease called MS which may be indirectly related (though never scientifically proven) to amalgam fillings, but that's hardly an assumption. An untreated abscess might as well lead systematic illness and perhaps some of these symptoms.

You may refer these questions to your dentist, I'm pretty sure he or she will be able to answer these questions more accurately.
