| Re: Free Ginigival Graft?
Hi TIA, there is no need to be scared of having bone grafts and implants done. Believe me, i feel more pain when I get my teeth cleaned. NO joke. If you get the conscious sedation IV, you know every thing that goes on and you can answer questions, but you feel pretty good. I had 2 sinus augmentations, 7 extractions, 10 bone grafts, and 7 implants all done the same day back in february of this year (5 1/2 hrs surgery) . I had no probleam after, only took 2 pain pills after the surgery. It was a little sore and swollen around my nose because of the sinus augmentations, but really no big deal. The 7 implants (plus another implant he will place in a few months since there was not anough bone there) are to replace all the teeth on top of my mouth, and while the bone grows around the implants, I wear an upper denture. NO problem there except the fact that I hate the upper plastic roof. Tomorrow's surgery should be a piece of cake compared to the first one. I'll be happy to answer your questions about all these procedures if you tell me what you are having done. The main thing is that is is totally painless, )I can't even really say I was uncomfortable) unless your surgeon does not know what he is doing, so it is important to check his references out, like asking for patient's names and if it is another dentist who does the restoration of the implants (the bridges and the crowns), ask for references and before and after pictures. You will be spending a lot of money and a lot of time, so do your home work. What state do you live in ??? Hope that helped a bit, I'll let you know tomorrow evening or the next day how it was. Marti
