Can a tooth problem cause eye pain?

I have a cavity or something in that "field" on a tooth on the left side of my top teeth. It is one of the far back teeth. Anyhow, it does give me lots of pain and I will get it taken care of soon, but I was wondering if having a probelm in a tooth, can cause pain in an eye? Because my left eye hurts really bad, and the opto. didn't see anything wrong with it.

Re: Can a tooth problem cause eye pain?

I also had eye pain when my upper left back teeth were decayed under the caps. In fact the pain went through my eye to my forehead. I was not able to touch my forehead. After the teeth were pulled, the pain went away after a few days. What a relief. I thought something was wrong with my eye but had been seeing an opthomologist who also could not find anything wrong with the eye. So it is possible you are experiencing the same. Hope you find relief soon.

Re: Can a tooth problem cause eye pain?

yes tooth problems can cause pain in your eyes and in you hearing.......... I had my wisdom teeth taken out a week ago......... but before that I was having a lot of pain in my eyes and in my ears..... which is a problem since I talk and listen to people all day as a profession...... I had a clue that my teeth were what was affecting these occurances..... now I have to tell everyone not to yell 'cause everything seems so loud now..... its odd...

Well good luck
