Abcess and Root Canal..another one bites the dust.... - Dental Health Message Board

Hello Everyone! I posted a while ago about an abcess I had. Well, that one has since been taking care of ........only two weeks later to have another tooth get an abcess and another root canal scheduled for the 27th. I also have another tooth in very back that is really acting up... I have a question, can a tooth get so bad that it affects the ear on the affected side and down the throat? Because my ear and throat and jaw on the side of the affected teeth..really hurt like he**. I'm also on Levaquin and I'm still hurting. Anyone ever experienced this before? Any help welcomed.

yes i have experinced this, an abcess can effect soooo much of your health then ppl relize your ears, throat,sinus,eyes and so on my pain was so bad i didnt do a darn thing but take pain killers and sleep the pain away if you are in this much pain call your dentist like i did and have him give you something like tylenol w/codine that worked for me untill i was able to have it taken care of. it was a living nightmare. all you can do is take antibotics to clear it and painkillers to take the edge of till it is delt with...good luck hope you feel better soon

Hi..I had an abcessed tooth for awhile, and I also had pain down my face, in my jaw, around my eyes, my glands were swollen and my face, and I felt generally sick and run down (weak, tired, etc)....I had been on antibiotics off and on, and sometimes they helped, and other times not..Most recently, nothing was helping, and I didnt want to go thru the whole root canal thing with a badly infected tooth, so I had it extracted....I feel so much better overall already and its only been 2 wks...
