Bone fragment coming through gum

About a month ago I had a bottom molar removed (very traumatic extraction) which later turned into a dry socket.
My dentist was able to sort that out and it thankfully seemed to heal ok but I was left with a tiny hole in the side of my gum with a sharp piece of bone sticking through, but like I say it was tiny so it didn't bother me and the dentist said it would go away itself.
All seemed to be healing ok until this morning when i woke up, that tiny bit of bone has now come half the way up through my gum and i can now see that it is a BIG piece of bone that is semi loose but still attached to my gum and makes my gum bleed if I touch it. It's not painful just scary to look at.
Any advice on what this is?

Re: Bone fragment coming through gum

go to your dentist he can remove it, or just pull it out it will stop bleeding and it will feel better I had all my top teeth pulled in july and 2 bottom teeth pulled about alittle over a month ago and have had about 10 bone spirs I pulled them out myself but not everyone can so if not the dentist can remove it.

Re: Bone fragment coming through gum

Your dentist can take it out or you can wait it out. It will finish working itself out usually. That is usually a better option then letting the dentist do it.
