Weird tooth growing out.... - Dental Health Message Board

last week i noticed an extra tooth growing out way in the back of my mouth. i know this isnt an ordinary tooth because its pointed and partly black. it hurts just a little when i eat sometimes.

it seems to be growing kind of fast so i was wondering if its something that needs to be pulled or will fall out on its own? also what may have caused this?

It's a good chance it's your wisdom tooth if it's way back there. Some wisdom tooth is very pointy, we call it a peg tooth. The black color can be stain or decay. Even if you'd had all 4 wisdom teeth pulled it's possible that a fifth one is present in your mouth. If its any kind of tooth it will more than likely will not fall out on it's own. You should prob get it checked out because it can potentially cause an infection.
