The process is pretty straightforward. First your dentist will numb ya up good. Then he will grind down the two teeth to make room for the crowns. It is a bit freaky how much they file them down, but try not to worry about it! Then he will put the packing cord around the base of the teeth and take impressions of the prepped teeth to send to the lab so that they can make your permanent crowns. After that, your dentist will put on temp crowns. These probably won't look nearly as good as the real ones, so if you don't like them, just know you won't have them for long. The real ones will look so much better. When you go back for the real ones to be placed, he will pull the temps off (which is very easy, so don't let that scare you! - I know people who worried about this quite a bit) and cement on the permanent ones! Some minor adjustments might need to be made, but that is all that will happen the second appointment. After each time you may be a little sore, but there is by no means any pain - a couple of advil should be plenty. Remember not to stress the temps by ripping into anything chewy, tough, or hard as the temps aren't as stable as the real ones.

Getting teeth crowned is pretty simple and painfree, so try not worry! You will do just fine!
