| Re: Chipped enamel
Have your dentist look at it and see if there's a problem. Sometimes you can chip a tootk from the wrong forces placed inthe wrong directions. You probably bit into something hard at one point in time that actually cracked the enamel, but it stayed in place - like a piece of glass that has a crack, but is still together. Then something softer and stickier pulls it apart. If the tooth fractured due to excessive force and is not giving you any discomfort and is a small piece, your dentist may be able to simply smooth it off for you. If the piece broke because there was a filling in the tooth and the enamel was unsupported, you may need a crown. If there was decay that undermined the enamel, you'll probably need a filling or crown.
