| Re: Enhancing Jaw/Chin without implants? Orthodontic approach
I can't suggest a particular orthodontist in southern CA because I live in Washtington state, but I'm certain you will be able to find a good one in your area. I would ask your dentist.
Braces definitely have aesthetic purposes because they put the teeth in a more correct position. If you notice your teeth are in the wrong places and your bite is off, braces can change the shape and position of your face. For more significant jaw problems (usually in adulthood), some people do need orthodontics as well as jaw surgery because sometimes braces alone do not fix the bite problem. Jaw surgery in combination with braces always create positive physical changes. (I get so disgusted with some people who get plastic surgery, such as a chin implant or check inplants, like on Extreme Makeover, when infact, one can easily tell they are masking the real problem, of a jaw deformity.)
