I decided 6 mo ago to switch my family to a new dentist as I was losing confidence in the dentist we had been using for the past 6 years. When we went in every 6 mo for check ups, he would do a quick cleaning and xrays as needed but always gave everyone a clean bill of health. The new dentist office did a cleaning on each of us that seemed much more through than the other dentist, but I was shocked when he told me that my 14yr old had 6 cavities, some quite deep that had developed underneath cracked sealants, my husband also had 6 cavities and has had to have 2 extractions due to decay, I had only one cavity and was referred by the new dentist to a periodontist for gum grafting due to recession (this was never mentioned by former dentist) 19 yr old had alot of wear on teeth due to grinding and needed mouthguard (also never mentioned by former dentist). All that can't have happened in only 6 mo! I am now spending alot on money for these repairs. Should I report this to someone? What would you do? Thanks for any replies!
