back molar question - Dental Health Message Board

I have a question. Tonight I was eating popcorn when I ate a kernal. When i bit down my top left molar hit it. My tooth hurts to just touch it. Could this cause my tooth to be loose? I can't mess with it to see and worried that my tooth is loose now. Why else would it be so sore to touch and when I open my mouth and my cheek rubs it, it also hurts. Does anyone know? Thanks for any help!!

Is it cracked? Have you had problems with it before? Can you touch it and see if it's loose?
If your tooth was 100% healthy I can't see it getting loose from a popcorn kernel but hey I am no professional and sometimes weird things happen.
If pain doesnt go away I'd go to a dentist first thing when they open
