I wrote about about 2 weeks ago about 2 deep fillings I had. After about 9 days one of them started aching. I saw my dentisat who said the root/nerve? would get better, stay the same or get worse. He wanted to give it some more time before doing a root.

How long should I wait for this darn thing to let me know if it is going to get better!
I have been taking so much Advil. I know I have a very low pain threshold. Our original plan was to see how it is in January at my teeth cleaning. Should I wait that long. I'm ready to get rid of the ache but will wait if it can still reverse.

It really depends on yourself,if taking an advil occasonally then yes I would wait.If your taking the advil but still feeling pain,and I mean pain not just some discomfort every now and then .It can take up to six months for a tooth to reverse itself form symtems.If the tooth is painful at all times no matter what you do ,then I would contact my DDS. If the tooth is uncomfortable at times because things have set it off (just to test the waters so to speak),I would wait. Keep in mind each time you test the waters you are irritating the nerve and taking it that much longer to get better. Most dont realize that there is live tissue in their tooth and doing things to see if it still hurts ,such as applying ice or hot foods to see if its gonna react ,set the tooth off and you have to start all over again. If the tooth is throbbing for no reason I would say that there is a good chance that the nerve is dying and the RCT will be required.
