8 days ago i got 2 impacted wisdom teeth removed.. i healed fairly quickly and got my stitches out in only 6 days.. on the 5th day i started getting this oozing feeling and nasty taste coming from the bottom extraction site.. my surgeon said its from the stitches being in there and all the build up of food and blood for 6 days.. she said i looked amazing and healed so fast.. but its still happening.. im rinsing every 30 minutes, and brushing like 7 times a day!! it tastes soooo nasty!! and now im have a habbit of sucking it out instead of it letting it come out on its own.. im starting to hurt it..
anyone ever have this happen after this procedure? if so, when will it stop?
p.s i have no holes due to how impacted the tooth was.. everything was sewed right back into place.. so no food can get stuck..
Hi there Kerry21,
I didnt personally experiance that, but all my friends (and I mean EVERYONE) that had their wisdom teeth did experiance that. I am almost positive then that there is nothing wrong, and if the surgeon said that also, that means there probably is nothing to worry about and will probably go away soon, just hang in there girl
I HAVE been biting on gauze to see what color.. and its light brown.. what is it.. and in the morning it comes out more.. u know? it like sprays out when i press down on it.. try to get in touch with one of ur friends and ask them if it was light brown and tastes nasty
I think you're hanging in there great, it will be all over soon, all the nasty stuff. remember when we insisted on getting all four out at the same time. Well now you will have to go through all of this again. And just to let you know, I remember the stitches, they were the worst part of it all!! They were so gross and nasty, they were tied off between my last two molars and every time I ate, I chewed on them, then I could feel them pulling my gums when I chewed on them. I was the worst, and they tasted awful. I was supposed to wait 10 days I think before I could get them out, by the 7th day I was back in the office begging them to take them out. They wouldn't, so I suffered through it for a couple more days. Hang in there, you'll make it, I promise.
yes but the stitches have been out since monday so why all this yuck! it even blows out air and sucks in air.. its grose and annoying.. so im thinking the stitches left a hole.. u know like a little pin hole.. so maybe thats where all the stuff is coming from.. my fiance thinks it will heal.. i sure hope so.. ::sigh:: i just real dont wanna bother my doctor anymore..
I am a Registered Dental Hygienist. What you are experiencing is "perfectly normal" after extractions BUT my question is, What are you rinsing with? Start brushing you teeth with baking soda NOT BAKING SODA TOOTHPASTE. Baking soda neutralizes the acids in your mouth and sweetens your breath. It would not be a bad idea to swish with a small amount of peroxide first. You know when you have a cut on your arm and put peroxide on it, it "bubbles" well it will bubble out some of the bacteria in your mouth. Use the peroxide first, until you feel it foam in your mouth, spit that out and then brush with baking soda and see if you don't feel much better. Do this every other day for a week and you will see a marked improvement.
ive been rinsing with everything! peroxide, warm salt water, listerine.. i brush like crazy.. today im not doing so well.. im in alot of pain.. my jaw hurts.. im oozing again.. but it seems like the taste is getting less bitter.. and the color is getting lighter.. people kept saying salt water just keep doing that.. maybe thats helping.. to tell u the truth i dont know what was worse.. the day of the surgery, or 10 days after.. my moler is killing me and my gums around my molers in the back look loose.. like they havent reattached.. i cant wait to go to the dentist.. thats the only face i wanna see right now! MY LOVELY DR.D! but i wanna heal more u know? and my mouth needs more exercise.. its just all this stuff is so much money.. last month i had a root canal.. i spent like 700, WITH OUT THE CAP.. then the surgery.. $785.. now what the hell are they gonna do with this tooth.. its an old root canaled tooth.. that was never capped when i was younger.. now its killing me.. and this sucks cause im dipping into my honeymoon money.. SAY GOODBYE TO THE CRUISE.. ::sigh::: sorry, i just need to vent today.. in about 9 months ill have insurance.. yay..
THANK YOU!!!!!! that nasty bitter taste has been keeping me up EVERY NIGHT for the last few nights and making me throw up a few times a night. i just brushed my teeth with baking soda and rinsed with peroxide and already i can notice a difference, that horrible taste was coming from where my impacted bottom left wisdom tooth was. whoever the dentist was that put that helpful imformation up THANK YOU! <3
