I Keep Biting My Tongue!
I need some help. For the longest time, I've had the reocurring problem of biting my tongue, usually in my sleep. The sides of my tongue are callused from this, not to mention difficulty in sleeping - or going back to sleep - once I've bitten it. I've talked with a nurse in a dentist office about it, but she didn't seem to know what to do.
I'm not talking about mild here, but serious bleeding resulting from the bites. I have started wearing mouth guards again (you know, the ones football players wear), but I'm upset, and totally stressed about this. I feel like I'm losing my mind here.
Can anyone tell me if this is solely an anxiety issue, a deficiency of some sort, or what?
