Question smoking after extraction?

how long do you have to wait to smoke after an extraction? My sister is getting 2 teeth pulled on top in the back and I told her that you have to wait awhile to smoke after...does anyone know how long?

At least a week but if she can go that long why not go another? Then another, and another, and next thing you know she's quit!

C'mon Ship!
A smoker doesn't want to hear that!! As an ex-smoker, I know you just want to get to that next nail! I used to jam cotton in at the extraction site to smoke, so most will find a way if they can. I agree that if you quit for a week, you can quit for a lfetime, but you have to want it badly enough, and even fear of of the dreaded dry socket wasn't enough to stop me!

Hey there tundra! You're right on the money! I agree with everything you said (also being an ex-smoker!).

I remember having all my wisdom teeth extracted and was smoking the same day! I didn't even bother putting cotton in the extraction site.... just lit up! For some miracle, I didn't suffer any consequences but I have heard of many who did!
