i work for a dentist,and it really depends on how long ago you got your filling done. the tooth being sensitive to cold is normal, and can last for a couple of weeks. sometimes the nerve gets a little hyped up, and it just takes time for it to settle down. on the other hand if the filling was close to the nerve, there is always the chance you could end up needing endo. usually if there is a crack in a tooth you will feel pain when you either bite down, or pain when releasing. that would result in needing a crown to protect that tooth. hope maybe this might help you some.
