pulse feeling in tooth after root canal - Dental Health Message Board

I just had a root canal finished on Thursday. Ever since then I have felt my heartbeat in that tooth and the teeth in front and back of it. (It was tooth #14).
Sometimes it feels like a throb but without the pain, but without a doubt it is my heartbeat. Even if I put my tongue or finger on the tooth, I can actually feel it beating through the tooth. Yesterday it was non stop all day. It has lessened some today but is still quite annoying. There is really no pain but the feeling is very strong. Is this anything to be concerned about? My dentist has me on Clindamycin.

Boss - I hear you. My tooth is really bothering me. I don't even have the crown on it. It is just the stub of a tooth and I want to rip that out of my mouth!! Hope you feel better soon.

I am having the same thing right now- I have two root canaled molars (lower), they have this constant dull aching lately and it's freaking me out. The dentist said I could wait until the summer to have the crowns put on (mainly because I can't afford them- no insurance and I'm a broke college student!). Now I'm really worried something is wrong and I will have wasted the money I spent on the root canals!!! On one of the teeth, I can see the dark filling material through the side of the tooth now- and I couldn't before. Like the tooth is completely see through and the filling is wearing down already. I am so concerned!

Jules - Were your root canals done recently? If I were you, I would call my dentist and let him/her know what is going on. I still have the pulse feeling in my tooth and it feels really weird. Luckily, I go back to my dentist tomorrow so hopefully I will find out if something is wrong. Good luck.
