HOPE SOMEONE CAN HELP

I WENT TO THE DENTIST TODAY AND BY TAKING AN XRAY HE
DETERMINED I HAVE AN ABSESSED TOOTH. THE PAIN I AM HAVING IS UNBELIEVABLE. HE GAVE ME SOME PAIN PILLS AND AN ANTIBIOTIC. HE WILL DO A ROOT CANAL AFTER THE INFECTION IS GONE. MY QUESTION IS WHY AM I FEELING WORSE. I KNOW IT HAS NOT BEEN 24 HOURS SINCE TAKING THE ANTIBIOTIC..BUT I SEEM TO BE GOING DOWN HILL. THE PAIN IS IN THE ROOF OF MY MOUTH AND SHOOTING UP TO MY SINUSES. (THE TOOTH IS ON TOP SECOND FROM THE BACK ON THE RIGHT SIDE) NOW I AM CONSTANTLY SICK TO MY STOMACH ANY TIME I SIT UP. I HAVE TO BE LAYING DOWN. IT IS LIKE I AM ALWAYS DIZZY. ANY ADVICE? CAN I DO ANYTHING TO RELIEVE MY DISCOMFORT?

Hi ML! Could it be the pain pills making things worse? that is sure what is sounds like! Let me know what pain pills he gave to you! The pain in the roof of your mouth could be pressure from the infection...that should be gone in the morning! Good luck! KIM

I had the same thing. Went in with pain and was diagnosed as an abscess. He gave me meds. They didn't help. I called back 1/2-hout later and told him I couldn't take it and he let me come in for an emergency root-canal. They'll do that if you can convince them the pain is bad enough. Mine was. I wanted to take a hammer to my mouth!!!!
