Hey guys! I can only imagine how frustrating this must be for you guys!

When you have an imidiate denture made then you usually have it made by a dentist & then you go to the oral surgeon for the extraction of your teeth & then your dentist will be there to place your denture. You will have to go through the adjustment process for about 12 months. That is about how long it will take for you to heal completely from the extractions & then for you gum tissue to shrink down to the permanent shape it will be for the rest of your life. As far as the surgery goes...like painfull had stated.....you will wake up throughout the procedure but you should only fell PRESSURE not pain! I do not know why these oral surgeons do not completely sedate their patients. For the $$$$ you are paying these people it looks like they could spare a little more anestheia so you would not remember or feel a thing

I was a dental assistant at the time my father had his imediate denture placed at the surgeons office & my boss is the one that made the denture & I was able to be there for Dad's surgery & placed the denture for him. He had the same experience with waking up & the surgeon would calmly speak to him until he went right back to sleep! From what I could tell is that the least amount of anesthesia they give then the sooner you are awake & able to move to recovery & the sooner they can get the next patient back. I know this sounds barberick & I do not want to worry you but I know you want to know what you can expect! My dad said that he never felt any pain the times he woke up, he was just pi^^ed off that he even woke up. Just speak to whoever you decide to have do this for you & do not be affraid to ask them any questions you may have. We try to be as helpfull as possible here but we are not the ones who are treating you & they may have totally different answers! I wish you all the luck in the world & keep us posted on how things go for you! I bet you are gonna love your new smile when it is all said, done, & over with!
Good luck to you!
Kim
