Chipped tooth? - Dental Health Message Board

Hey... So after dinner one day my tongue was wondering around my mouth like getting whatever might have got stuck to a tooth right... Well I feel my upper teeth and not the two front but the one two over from the right front tooth that one it feels like a sharp edge... So I was feeling around and stuff, then I put my finger in and it feels different from the tooth like that on the other side.

So is it chipped? Also I noticed that when I brush over that area or floss between it starts to bleed and it appears to look like a lil dark dot... Probably buildup from the day, but when I stuck the floss up there and rubbed against the gum it started bleeding and hurt a little.

So could it be a chipped tooth? I don't have any pains... It's just a lil sharp and my tongue keeps giving that tooth attention... I so hope that it's not chipped... My mouth has been through enough hell... And the ortho would have noticed if that one area was a gap and needed to be fixed with more braces...

Gah...

Anyone who knows what a chipped tooth is please reply... Take these worries away... It's just bothering me.

haha yeah my tooth is totally crack the line goes right up it... but the other one sorta looks like that but that tooth is all one color... this one is like half white and half not white but like a different shade... woo cracked tooth go me!

It might just be chipped enamal and your dentist could just smooth it over. The toungue always magnify things so it might not be a big chip. If it is a big chip then it could be covered over with a filling material or you could have it crowned!
The little dark spot could be decay starting.

Well the dark spot is like where there is a lil gap I suppose... I mean I brush floss and mouthwash... Blah.

Yeah maybe my tongue is just like spazing out over it... It's not like I have any pain.

Yeh it just sounds like a enamel chip! get some sandpaper and smooth it down!
