As mentioned in a previous post, I recently had my wisdom teeth extracted. About a day and a half ago, I noticed a "bad" taste in my mouth. Today I actually looked at the holes, and they are oozing yellow pus. The holes do *not* hurt, they only ache slightly, which is to be expected. However, what if they are infected? My parents tell me just to wait to speak to the surgeon. What should I do?
hi sorry ive no advice for you but i wanna say WELL DONE http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/t_up.gif and good luck im sure some one in the know will reply soon take care
On Monday morning call the surgeon's office and ask them if this oozing is anything to be concerned about. A nurse or assistant in that office should know this answer. I'm afraid I don't know if this is 'normal', but I don't particularly like the sound of it and a simple phone call should get you an answer.
I would play it safe and call the Surgeon's Office, but it sounds like the scab is forming. Yes, scabs form in your mouth just like on any flesh, but they look similar to what you discribe.
I called the surgeon's office before posting here, and they had nothing to tell me but to keep on rinsing with the salt water...
A scab? Would a scab be oozing pus? I'm kind of worried. I don't smoke or anything so I honestly don't understand how the extraction sites could have gotten infected.
What?! They had nothing to tell you??? http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/confused.gif
