Horrid Metal Taste - Dental Health Message Board

Hello Everyone,

I have posted this here because I wasn't sure where to ask my question. I apologise in advance if it has already been discussed.

For about the last 6 months I have had a horrid metal taste in my mouth. Not permanent but sometimes it comes on without warning. Sometimes my mouth gts really moist and then the taste intensifies. As I have been taking all of my medications for many years, I know it is not connected to any of them.

I was thinking it was perhaps a gum problem or something like that. Can anyone identify with this?

Could be down to a sinus infection.

Do you have any post nasal drip? mucus running down the back of your throat.
Do you spit alot?
Are you getting any headaches centered in and around the front of your head? between the eye brows,under the eyes?

I would do a little research on sinus infections and its symptoms, i have recently started looking into it and found that i have these symptoms along with the metal taste in the mouth all point towards an infection.

Thank you so much. I have not been troubled by sinus problems before, so it never entered my head. Reading the things you wrote regarding the headaches and where they are located, it fitted. I will definitely look into that.

Hi Goldenwings

Im glad the info has helped. As I mentioned I am currently doing some research on the sinus, ive been looking into ways of clearing the infection but without using antibiotics ,from what ive read it is a very tough infection to get rid of and it tends to return over time. Antibiotics just don't cut it long term.

I found a silver colloid called SOVEREIGN SILVER it's a pure sliver colloid basically meaning it is not made from silver ions (as most colloids out there are, apparently all colloids are def not equal!) but instead made from pure silver particles, making it much stronger and much more efficient. It will apparently wipe out the infection very well.

I have ordered some so i will post and let you know the results.

You may be right about gum problems. Sometimes that metallic taste in your mouth is a classic symptom of periodontal disease. Do you notice any recession in your gumline. That is also a sign of this problem. Ask your dentist about maybe seeing the periodontist. As a sufferer of this disease I had the metallic taste in my mouth when the perio diagnosed it. But I had a spot of recession on my gumline also. Talk to your dentist or go on your own to a perio>
